College. He went on to attend The Master’s Seminary where in 1991 he earned his master’s
degree in divinity (M.Div.) and his doctorate in ministry (D.Min.) in 2007.

Louisiana, California and Kansas.

through 2015.

Hoover, Alabama and served through May 2024.
In October of 2024, He became the Pastor of Countryside Bible church in Hampton Nebraska
Rick and his wife, Kathy, each lost their spouses (Kris Goertzen and Scott Conklin) after about 40 years of marriage. They are so blessed and grateful to the Lord for allowing them to serve him together in this new season. Between them they have seven children and 16 grandchildren.
Involvement in Brazil, Russia, and Africa have also been opportunities Rick has embraced. He
teaches at Bible Colleges and leads pastoral and missionary training seminars, as well as
ministers to and encourages pastors in these remote locations. He serves on the Board of
Directors for Slavic Gospel Association. In addition to teaching and preaching, Rick has enjoyed
writing. His publications include two books published in Portuguese: (1) A Pregação Expositiva
e o Pastor: Redescobrindo o lugar da pregação expositiva no ministério pastoral, and (2)
Liderança Fiel, Reflexões sobre a liderança de Pedro, Barnabé, Arão e Moisés.
Rick believes there is no greater privilege than to serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For
Rick, that means his primary purpose is to use his gift to preach God’s precious Word.
